World Day of Mental Health in Slovenia 2012
11.10.2012
News from Bogdan Dobnik (Ozara, Slovenia): This year we have decided to acknowledge world mental health day a little bit different as this was the case in the previous years.

In cooperation with the renowned pharmaceutical company Janssen we managed to organize the display of the unique multimedia simulator. The intention of this multimedia simulator is to display the feeling and impressions of people with a psychotic disorder to the visitors. This simulator is actually an adjusted truck, equipped with up-to-date audio-visual equipment. This truck was in Slovenia already in 2006 and due to great interest shown back then we decided to display it also this year. This simulator was on display at the main square in Ljubljana (Kongresni trg) on the world mental health day, on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. In the proximity of this truck we also prepared an exhibition of portraits of the 42 celebrities from movies, music, politics etc. Who, during their course of life, suffered from a mental health disorder. Furthermore, in cooperation with the Slovenian National Television, a special talkshow-programme was broadcasted, where in the first part the documentary movie »Scenes from A Reality« was shown, followed by a discussion round with Slovenian celebrities, who suffer from mental health disorders, and experts from the field of mental health.
